Assignment 2: Storytime!
The story I have chosen for this assignment is something that many students, including me, would have experienced in their academic journey. It follows a person who failed a test which caused her to feel extremely defeated. A close friend comforts her and teaches her, and helps her to get a good grade eventually.

Picture 7:
Picture 8:
Picture 1:
- The person receives her results in test 1. She sees that she has failed her test, getting a 3/20 and an F grade, and a note to see the teacher.
- Over the shoulder shot is used here to emphasise the bad grade that she has gotten.
- Medium close up shot is also used here to show the details of her hair and clothes
Picture 2:
- The reaction of the person towards her grade can be seen here. She looks defeated, which is shown on how shes staring at the test paper looking very down and upset
- A long, high angle, reaction shot is used to emphasise how small and weak she is, portraying her loneliness, and that there is no one to help or comfort her. It also makes her look vulnerable as she is extremely down and upset.
Picture 3:
- The person is crying with her head on the table and her friend is comforting her.
- Over the shoulder shot emphasises the sadness of the person and how her friend is trying to comfort her. It also establishes a continuity in the person's reactions towards her grade (from defeated to sadness)
Picture 4:
- The person decides to look for her friend, to ask her to teach her how to do her work.
- Long shot is used here, to portray how the person is approaching and standing in front of the friend looking sad to ask her to her how to do work. The fact that she is approaching the friend while the friend is doing her own thing indicates how keen she is in improving her grades.
Picture 5:
- The friend is teaching her how to do her work
- Eye-level shot is used as it is emotionally neutral and best used for straight, factual presentation of things, like what is portrayed in the picture. Medium close up is used, to show how hard the person is trying to learn as all the books, notes, her laptop is around her.
Picture 6:
- The person takes her second test.
- Over the shoulder shot to establish a continuity in the person's academic journey of trying to do well for her tests, and shows how she is currently doing her Test 2.
Picture 7:
- The person does very well for test 2, getting 17/20 and an A grade, with praises from the teacher. She feels really happy and is smiling really widely
- Close up shot is used to emphasise her happiness and smile.
Picture 8:
- The person shares her happiness with her friend. The friend congratulates and celebrates with her for her good grade.
- Eye level shot is used as it best used for straight, factual presentation of things, like what is portrayed in the picture.
- Medium close up is used to show the details of their smile and the test results.
